Kisker has always done a great job with brand creation, awareness and placement. The difficulty is to start production without the benefit of accessing volume based component discounts and to use a high quaility - but not cheap - build partner Valmet. Additionally A123, who supply the battery system, are also effectively in start-up mode, with Fisker as one of their larger customers. In the latter case the order status of Karma batteries became an A123 shareholder issue towards the end of 2011. &lt;br&gt;When launching one needs as much control over all media outlets as possible, and if the company is simply too small this level of control is very fdifficult to achieve.
